One last trip for 2011
No, I'm not talking about acid, gang! My stash ran out years ago!!
I'm talking about yet another trip away from home. I'm off to Mayfield, Kentucky today to research a screenplay project for women's television. En route to Mayfield, I will stop over in Cincinnati to see my dad. Then I will head back here on Monday.
Short trip; lots of driving. And since the closer we get to Christmas, the more expensive rental cars get, I am actually driving my own 1997 Camry. Let us all stop for a minute right here, right now and PRAY, okay, gang??? Okay!
[Together]: "Dear God, we beseech you -- no, we humbly beseech you -- please allow this trusted, albeit rusty, 1997 Camry with over 170,000 miles on it and bald tires, to make it to Mayfield, Kentucky and back without any problems whatsoever. In exchange for answering our prayer, we promise to fill the world with great joy. Thanks, God. Amen."
I have not told the cats that I'm leaving, this time. I sense their tolerance of all this traveling is wearing thin. They will not find out until late this evening that I'm gone -- when I don't come home and the only one around to hit up for snacks will be the housemate. But after this third trip in about 9 weeks, I will be staying put for awhile. Yay! It promises to be a really great Christmas around here, gang!! All right, happy Friday, and thanks for visiting!!
