No, I'm serious!

I know I am always thrusting these photos of my petunia upon you, but come on! Isn't this just an amazing petunia, gang? He's been blooming like crazy since May -- that's four months now. Just blooming like mad, with no signs of stopping. (My other petunias, bought on the very same day, are still blooming but showing those tell-tale signs of stopping.)

I took this photo at dawn. The few straggling people driving by at that hour must have thought I was nuts. Well, actually, they probably thought I was nuts when they saw me taking the photo below this one.

Yes, the photo below is a photo of the side of my garage at dawn on a Sunday. Just after a wonderful thunderstorm.

The reason I took this picture is b/c of that outside light. Surely you see it lit there in the photo??? This is quite an interesting light b/c I have owned this house for 5 years now and I still cannot find the light switch that turns this light on or off. The light is almost never on. Then, suddenly, of its own accord it will suddenly just come on -- but only at night. It's a really bright light and it lights up the whole side of my house.

I'm guessing that this time the thunderstorm made it come on, but most times, it just comes on regardless of the weather. Then it'll just go off and not come on again for months. I think this light has maybe come on 7 times in the 5 years I've lived here. When it does come on, I regard it as something magical, a promising omen of some sort, that something really fortuitous is going to happen for me out in the cosmos somewhere. (It doesn't take much to make me think thoughts like that about inanimate things, though. Just so you know.)
