OMG, Magnificent Saturday!!

The great weather just keeps on coming, gang.

So how' bout that West Memphis 3 thingie? I'm not going to get onto yet another soapbox -- you know how easy it is for me to jump up onto those things -- because I'm guessing those guys are just grateful to finally be free. However. Making their freedom conditional on admitting guilt to the crimes so that they would not be in a legal position to sue the state??? And basically saying, "Okay, they're free now and it's up to them to just go around and proclaim their innocence for the rest of their lives." Is that really true, gang??? Well, that's what I read online yesterday.

Me: Grumble, grumble, grumble -- you know? What is with this country?? Basically the State is saying "we know we fucked up and now we want to ensure that you don't cost us a fucking fortune. [Insert sound of gavel pounding on Judge's bench] Next!"

On a related note, though. Loyal readers of this lofty blog perhaps recall that the horrible murder of those cub scouts happened to take place while I was on my honeymoon with Wayne (now my ex-honeymoon companion) and he & I happened to actually spend part of our honeymoon in West Memphis. But we were just checking into our motel room in Colorado when the news came on the TV that those little boys had been found. And it was just so horrible. I couldn't sleep that night, with all that news footage of those unbelievably distraught parents screaming and crying and basically hemorrhaging unimaginable amounts of grief & despair... So I'm wondering if they in fact do have DNA that is strong enough to let the West Memphis 3 finally go free after 18 years in prison, are they going to go after the real killer now?

Okay. On a much brighter note...

Check out this link to BonjourParis.com . It takes you to a really cool interview with Alexis Niki, a Paris-based American filmmaker, screenwriter, and web impresario as she talks about her film, My Bitchy, Witchy Paris Vacation.

And speaking of Paris....Yes, gang, I am starting to get really excited about my trip!! And NO!! -- I have not had even a moment of free brain room to study French for the last few months. So it's going to be very interesting when I do that reading in the Paris book store. I will speak in very simple, easy to understand French and hope that most of my audience will be kindergartners.

In England, though, everybody tends to speak English so I'll be home free, as it were, for 2 solid weeks. I will be at liberty to regale everyone, hither & yon, with my truly impressive English vocabulary!

I am really just so looking forward to this trip, gang. I really, really am.

Okay, well. I still have to work on that script for the nursing school DVD and turn it in tomorrow, so I gotta scoot. I hope you have a really great Saturday, wherever you are, folks! Thanks for visiting. See ya!

[Some of my diehard French fans, eagerly counting the days to my arrival!!]
