What could be finer???

...than rich, deep humidity that you can really sink your teeth into, gang??

Yes, it's back. But the good news is that the temperatures are hovering in the low 90s instead of the low 100s... Still, ideas like:

  • staying up late and sitting outside watching the sun set and the fireflies emerge
  • going on picnics in the great outdoors
  • doing anything at all beyond attempting to breathe in the great outdoors...
these ideas have all fallen by the wayside for now.

Why do I always forget how hot and miserable summer is? I guess b/c when those rare perfect summer days roll around they are so incredibly exquisite that they get permanently engraved in my brain under the general happy banner of SUMMER. And then in the dead of winter or during the cold rainy grey days of spring, I think of SUMMER and that lovely engraving of what one, singularly awesome example of a day/evening in summer was like gets served up to my mind's eye and I get all rapturous (not in the religious sense, of course) and I say to myself, "Oh yes! Summer!! I can't wait!!"

And even though the AC is working fine now, the heat/humidity still makes my little laptop get extremely hot so I am less inclined to sit anywhere near it and more inclined to re-acquaint myself with the charming, old-fashioned merits of pen and paper and of simply writing things down. I haven't gone so far (yet) as to whip out the postage stamps and the embossed stationery and let letter-writing take the place of sending emails. First, I go to texting on my little cell phone. Then if that were to suddenly get too hot and/or laborious I might then think of writing short brief "letters/replies" and mailing them out all day long. Of course it would be up to the receiver to keep track of the conversation:

Original email: Okay, let me know what you think.
My handwritten letter [arriving 3 days later]: "I think it's good. MJL."
Receiver of letter [who has since sent a half-dozen more texts & emails on the subject]: Who is this and what is she talking about?

Okay, okay!! Enough!! I gotta get out in that yummy goop of humidity, gang. So I'm gonna scoot. Hope you're having a good one wherever you are!! Thanks for visiting!
