Happy Summer Solstice, One & All!
I celebrated the arrival of the Solstice by getting out of bed extra-special early today and trekking out to the sacred bird-feeder ground. I brought along my acoustic guitar and me and the raccoons, and rabbits, and badgers, and skunks, and squirrels, and chipmunks, and field mice, and groundhogs, and hummingbirds, and cardinals, and sparrows, and starlings, and robins all sat in a circle and sang "Michael, Row Your Boat Ashore," and "If I had a Hammer" and songs like that.
As luck would have it, as dawn was just breaking through, we were singing "Kumbaya" -- it couldn't have been more perfect. It was almost like the Universe had planned it, or was joining in with us, or something like that. Afterwards, we all hugged and felt really, really happy. Someone had brought fermented mulberry juice, so we were passing the jug around. It couldn't have been a more auspicious start to summer, gang. Wow. We all just felt really blessed.
You know what the Solstice means, don't you, gang? The Solstice kicks off the Sun's moving into the zodiac sign of Cancer -- which is the officially-designated time of year for one & all to begin showering me with gifts!! Yes, birthday cake is on my horizon, gang. On a clear night, you can actually see it hovering out there in the distance!! It positively glows!
[A copy of the official invite I sent out to all the little creatures of the forest. I was really amazed by what a great turn out we got!]
