This little work of art came from Valerie yesterday when she found out about the IPPY award for Freak Parade (see post below).

As loyal readers of this lofty blog no doubt recall, Valerie is a long-time muse of mine and served as the inspiration for the character of Wanda in Freak Parade. In the art work below, that is her dog Maxine, photographed in her Halloween costume, against a different photo of Coney Island. (If you've read Freak Parade, you'll undoubtedly note that Coney Island plays a special part in the novel, as well.)
