Everything's changing around here!
Not only is it finally spring, with new flowers and green stuff popping out all over the place, but things like my laptop and my cellphone cried out simultaneously for some sort of new lease on life!
CRAP.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to upgrade the laptop anytime soon (and when I do, I want to get both an iPad and a desktop instead of a new laptop), but anyway, to kind of give my laptop a performance boost, I finally made time to dump a whole lot of the stuff onto external drives.
Do you have any idea how FUN that is? (Boring, tedious, endless...) I uploaded my MP3 files to a cloud drive and it took 2 DAYS. Jesus.
And the cellphone battery was just about gone on the cellphone so it was time to bite the bullet and get a new phone. (I am so not a new phone kind of gal -- I have actually had the same cell phone for 4 years now!!)
So I was entitled to a free upgrade, as you can imagine. But all I wanted was a basic phone -- the kind that rings when someone calls you, takes a message if you don't answer, and allows you to dial out and call someone else! It's an exotic concept, I know, but it was what I really hungered for. I checked the web site but it's amazing how many indescribably complicated phones there are out there now. I finally had to call the phone company and say, "Can I just have a basic new phone please??? Just give me anything, as long as it's not pink!"
So the (black) LG phone arrived yesterday. I spent about an HOUR this morning trying to figure out how to open the back of my old phone and switch out the SIM card. I attacked it with a knife, a nail file, all kinds of sharp pointy things, etc., THEN noticed the little silver button that you press and it pops open... then I did all the other stuff you have to do to make a phone your phone, etc., etc., and -- long story short -- it is now almost 11 AM and I have not yet begun to get any work done around here!! (i.e., finish up the spring cleaning (DON"T roll your eyes at me!! I'm really going to finish it. At some point...), and then hunker down and get back to writing the new crime novel.)
Well, it's been an annoying couple of days here but we seem to finally be on track now. Everything's upgraded, running smoothly, flowers are blooming; all's right with the world! I'm gonna get on with it!! Have a good one, gang. Thanks for visiting!!
