Score!!!

I'm not kidding, gang -- we so loved it!!
The animation on this one is just unbelievable. The music is sort of, like, to die for; a perfectly flawless parody of every western ever made -- I'm contemplating downloading it. Haven't completely made up my mind on that one. The dialogue is -- well, it goes by really fast, but the stuff I caught was really clever. And if you've seen a lot of movies, especially westerns, then you will probably find it really funny. I don't particularly like westerns so I know a few of the references were going over my head. (My ex-husband, Wayne, probably would have gotten every single one of them and the ones I did get were b/c I was married to Wayne for 14 years... How many Clint Eastwood marathons did he watch while glued to the recliner in our bedroom, drinking beers and smoking unfiltered Camels for hours on end?)
I'm thinking that really little kids aren't going to be too wild about this film, though; especially little girls. It's violent & creepy in a lot of places. Plus it's long. And most little kids haven't had time yet to see a bunch of classic westerns...or Chinatown, or Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.
But we were both really happy with it! Yay!
And...
Through some miracle, when I took my cousin into the grocery store to pick-up her prescription for some more pain meds (she just had surgery), I wandered quick like a bunny over to the wine section and what should fall right into my field of vision but a great French red Bordeaux -- on sale. The last one left. It was bought and paid for and in my bag before my cousin even came back from the pharmacy.
So tonight is all about me and this Bordeaux and Blake Edwards' Sunset (1988); a movie about, yes, old Hollywood. What could be better??
