About Last Night!
I wore the Vera Wang cocktail dress -- finally! I've owned it forever but had never worn it yet. It doesn't look as cute on the hanger as it is in "real life." (It's an A-line dress that falls straight down to just above the knee -- it doesn't touch your body at all so it makes you look like you weigh about 4 pounds!! Yay!) And I wore Vera Wang high heels, too -- which was a SUPERB choice, since it snowed like crazy!! Jesus. (Everyone else was wearing boots -- what weirdos! Why be so practical as to wear boots when it's snowing like crazy out?) (What's really weird, though, is that when my cousin's husband swung by to pick me up last night, I stepped outside my front door -- yes, in my high heels and black fishnets, even -- and I said, "Wow, it's snowing!" yet I'd only been standing there at my front window, looking out for several minutes. For some reason, I hadn't noticed that it was snowing. Maybe when I was sleeping, aliens came down from Alien Land and implanted a special snow filter directly over my eyeballs that completely blocks out my ability to see snow unless I'm standing directly in it while wearing inappropriate footwear?? I don't know, sounds plausible.)
But we had such a nice time. We were practically the only people in the place b/c of the snow (and I guess just b/c it was a Monday night). We had a terrific bottle of champagne and just about every appetizer they had on the menu, then topped it off with some kind of deadly chocolate ganache cake a la mode...
It was a perfect evening all the way around (especially b/c I didn't have to drive!! Really, there was a lot of snow!)
