Everything all at once!!
First of all -- MORE snow!! They said we were expecting "some flurries" yesterday and they were right! Boy, those were "some flurries"!! Jeepers. And they sort of appeared out of nowhere.
I was at a client's home yesterday afternoon and she asked me (since I used to do a ton of catering in the early days in NYC), if I would mind helping her get ready for a little dinner party she was having b/c she was way behind schedule. I said, "Sure!" (Well, I didn't say "sure, I would mind," I said that I would love to help her.) So there we were, chatting and chopping and tasting and commenting and tasting and chopping some more...
And, meanwhile, unbeknownst to moi, the snow was really piling up outside and it was becoming rush hour. Not that we weren't totally surrounded by windows -- she lives in a mansion and has the most amazing kitchen -- but we were just so involved. At one point I finally really looked outside, I mean, consciously noticed what I was looking at and I said, "Holy moly! Look at all that snow!" So I had to scoot then. But it was too late. Snow, ice, cars slip-sliding all over the place in the dark. My usual 12 minute drive took me 45 minutes instead.
Still, I have to say, gang, the snow was beautiful!! And I came home to a toasty new furnace and a really pretty new stove! Yay! And a frisky fluffy cat with 3 glorious teeth!!
Well.... In regards to the title of this post:
Hey, what is with the People's Choice Awards anyway? Is that, like, just for girls or something??? I've never actually scene that show but naturally I needed to YouTube the show from the other night b/c I needed to see Johnny Depp for 74 seconds. (It's imperative, you know. I must see footage of every move he makes. Even if he's in the throes of some painful muscle spasm in his left calf, or something, and is lurched from sleep in agony at 4:13 AM, I need to see it on YouTube!! In fact, I expect it!!)
Anyway, I saw the footage and the audience was just exploding with girls. Skinny girls, in fact. I'd even go so far as to venture to say "skinny girls with long hair".
There was also a nano-second of Kristen Stewart accepting an award. Man, that gal is a knockout. Especially as a brunette. (Naturally I like her b/c she almost always seems to be in a really bad mood!! I love that -- you know, signs of "brain activity.")
Okay. I'm outta here. Gonna go make some sort of tasty breakfast on my gorgeous new stove!! See ya, gang. Thanks for visiting!!

Well.... In regards to the title of this post:
- Jerry and I are well underway with our screenplay (meaning we are now past the synopsis phase, we got our feedback/input/advice from various producers, readers, other screenwriters, etc., and are officially underway with the writing of the actual screenplay).
- The French-English screenplay I'm consulting on arrived on Wednesday (yay!) and it is going to be a lot more work than I'd thought. (It's a French screenplay that an American actor, whom I really like (!!), is attached to now so they need the English (British) translation of the screenplay to sound natural for a New York American male lead. I love this actor who is attached to it. He is so funny. Very Upper West Side New York. He's a writer & a director, too.) Anyway, I am loving it!! But it's a lot of concentration, between studying the original French version, how it translated into English and trying to find the very best words to make it sound more NYC-American but keeping the original French feel. And this screenplay could not be more different from the one Jerry & I are writing.
- I am in the process of being interviewed for a UK-based web zine (I'm their featured writer for their next issue which is coming out, like, in 5 minutes), and the interview is actually quite lengthy and involved. Questions that span 20 years of my writing career & my always chaotic emotional life. The answers are taking a lot of concentration, as well.
- And there's that memoir I'm writing (laboring over)...
