New Nick & Nora PJs! Yay!

"Nick & Nora" not only stand for Nick & Nora Charles, of The Thin Man fame (a series of movies, throughout which -- except in The Thin Man Goes Home -- Nick & Nora drink a serious amount of cocktails. Well, after Nora has the baby, she doesn't drink cocktails anymore, but Nick still does. Anyway.) Nick & Nora is also the house brand of Target PJs! Which means you can usually find PJs at Target with a serious cocktail-themed print all over them. Since I am hopelessly corny, I find these things really cute!

Well, I was dashing into Target yesterday, on another mission to buy Earth-friendly cleaning products, and I was suddenly struck by the overpowering urge to investigate their Christmas PJ supply! I am really just not happy with those Vera Wang Christmas fleece thingies. They are really cute to look at but b/c they are made of cheap fleece, they just fit like crap. And most loyal readers of this lofty blog no doubt recall that I am super vain, even when living alone...

Anyway, as if they were expecting me in the PJ department, just hanging there in plain sight was the cutest pair of Nick & Nora Christmas PJs in absolutely my size!! (Snowflakes instead of a cocktail print, however.) They weren't even hanging on the right rack; they were just hanging on the rack that was looking right at me, and when I investigated further, I discovered that this pair that was in absolutely my size was the only pair in that style in my size that was left! Yay! The Universe was, for all intents & purposes, thrusting them upon me!! I scooped them up & home we went! (Well, I paid for them first, lest you get any uncomfortable ideas about any criminal tendencies I might have inherited from my illustrious paternal biological family, etc., etc.)

As usual, me alone with a camera is not the best combination, gang, but I hope you can get a good idea of how cool these PJs are -- they are sort of 1920s "Auntie Mame"-ish, don't you think???? (Meaning: when we first encounter her in her townhouse on Beekman Place and she's got that Oriental "Den of Iniquity" theme going on???) (Yes, another one of my favorite movies of all time , gang!!)
