It's "Things that perturb me" Day! Yay!
1.) What on earth is this new deal with Amazon.com and "making movies"????? Have you seen that game plan, gang? Unreal! What a novel way to yet again rip off writers! (I'm guessing it rips off filmmakers, too, but I've only read the part about screenwriters & I blanched profusely.) You can read about it on Thompson On Hollywood, here .
2.) Cher! At the premiere for her new film Burlesque -- what the hell kind of a dress is that? That dress on Cher (whom I love) only helped make Christina Aguilera look really, really good (whom I don't love). (I actually don't make a habit of looking at photos from random premieres, but I saw it in a slideshow about Ronnie Chasen's murder (it was over at The Wrap .com) and suddenly the photo of Cher & Christina was upon me. I gasped!!)
3.) My copy of the audio version of Keith's memoir, Life, arrived in yesterday's mail. Why yes, it's a 20 (!!!!) CD collection!! Who the hell has time for this??? Jesus. I am currently taking a 36-class course on Philosophy, Religion, & the Meaning of Life from some professor at Georgetown University. I thought it was a 24-class course, but au contraire. I download & burn each 12-segment class, then listen to it while I'm cooking. Each individual class lasts approx. 30 minutes. Me thinks I'm going to be in this class for a while! Then, in the mornings, I've begun this incredible guided meditation series from Esther & Jerry Hicks. It's phenomenal, gang. It's a book & CD combined. I am so tightly scheduled around here (memoir; then screenplay with my new writing partner in L.A.) that I like to keep my CDs in their respective players so that all I need do is enter a room and press PLAY and get on with it. I don't have a moment to waste on switching out CDs from their respective players. (i.e., kitchen for the philosophy class; bedroom for the guided meditation series; laptop is for studying my Rosetta Stone French course.) Where am I going to keep my 20 (!!!!) Keith CD's lodged for ready listening??? It's perturbing, to say the least!
Okay, gang!! I am off to practice my piano! And by "off" I mean "move over a few feet" from the laptop to the piano. Basically, it's a process of switching chairs. I am currently re-learning a bunch of Christmas carols. Next, I'm going to build a fireplace right next to the piano! I'm anticipating the coziest Christmas ever! Right now, in fact, I'm loading in a 54-part CD course about how to build a chimney in a 53 year-old house!! I have just enough time in my day to fit that in!
All right. Enough. See ya, gang. Thanks for visiting!
