Already one of the family!
She's all decked out and looking like she likes her new home..

The first song I played on her was, appropriately enough, "Doh, A Deer" from the Sound of Music, followed closely by an old Country & Western standard that I love to sing, "Tennessee Waltz." (That's the sheet music that's open right there in the photo. My biological father gave me that songbook -- Readers' Digest Country & Western Favorites!)
Then I got out the record player and played the original motion picture soundtrack from the Sound of Music because I love to sing and I wanted to sing along to the record. Actually, I have a classically trained voice and I can still sing exactly like Julie Andrews when I want to (you know, even though sometimes I make fun of myself on the blog, I really can sing; I have a powerful soprano voice that you can probably hear halfway down the block and I love to sing like Julie Andrews...) (Also, if you're young and you're a singer, too, you should seriously invest in classical voice lessons. Once your voice is classically trained, it will last a lifetime; you won't fuck up your vocal chords!)

And then, while singing like Julie Andrews... I strung up the new energy-efficient Christmas lights in the kitchen! Yay!! However, you can not turn off the flash on my camera, so I couldn't capture how cool the lights really look, b/c with the flash, it makes the lights look like they're just on in broad daylight, or something. But you'll have to take me word for it: they look really cool!!
The holidays are gearing up around here, gang! They're gonna be beautiful, I just know it!
