Oh for heaven's sake, enough movies already!!

Well, judging from the urgentness (okay, some people might take the easy way out and use the word "urgency" there, ha ha) but judging by the urgent alerts I received in my inbox from various Hollywood breaking-news updater thingies last night, (good lord, there MUST be a better way to phrase that -- my brain is set on "stun" this morning) (that's a reference to the old Star Trek TV shows -- "Set fazers on 'stun' Scottie!") (Is it 'phasers' or 'fazers'??)

Oh, anyway!! Tim Burton & Johnny Depp are set to begin filming Dark Shadows in April. The reason this upsets me is b/c NOW it will only be a matter of moments and the film will be in the theaters and I will have aged at this alarming rate.

It starts with these seemingly harmless press releases, announcing that a start date for production has been decided upon. The next thing I know, I barely turn around and my cousin is emailing me with the exact date and time of the movie's release and saying something like, "Mark your calender for December 14th, 2012! Where do you want to have lunch before the movie??" And I'm thinking, How the hell does she have this information already??? And the VERY NEXT MOMENT it is all those months later and there we are, sitting in some theater -- already having had lunch, mind you -- and the movie is getting ready to start. And I'm suddenly about 2 years older. It is the scariest thing.

It's like these press releases have very, very powerful magnetic qualities that just suck me right up into the future and I can't slow it down and big chunks of my life on Earth disappear.

I'm so serious; I saw that press release last night and my jaw fell open, and I thought: Oh fuck. Another one of those Tim Burton - Johnny Depp time suckers. Almost as scary as the spider in the bathroom... (See post below somewhere)
