My 1st serious episode of forgetfulness

Wow. Kind of amazing. I was cleaning all afternoon yesterday and at 5 PM, I was totally exhausted but out running errands. The last errand was a trip to the library to return those 11 episodes of Brideshead Revisited (relevant post is below somewhere) and a couple books. One of the books was this enormously huge hardcover photo book about the Rolling Stones by Bill Wyman. It was really, really COOL but really, really heavy. And I guess that the weight of everything I was trying to carry, along with my favorite Vera Wang handbag (I have 2 of her handbags but only one is my favorite), plus being so fucking exhausted...

Well, I went into the library, returned my stuff, then decided to see what other DVDs they might have that I could swoon over -- I was in luck, they had Volume 13 of Misdomer Murders ! Yay! So I went to check it out. My library card is on my key chain, and I was looking & looking & looking for my fucking keys in my huge Vera Wang handbag and I couldn't find them. Luckily, I remembered that I also had an old-fashioned library card that I could scan into the checkout scanner thingie. So I did that, thinking that I must have forgotten my keys in the car.

I have never left my keys in my car. Nor have I ever locked my keys in my car or accidentally left them sitting anywhere.

As I walked back to the parking lot, I glanced around for my keys but I was figuring I'd probably just left them in my car, that I hadn't dropped them anywhere. And then the closer I got to my car there was this SOUND and I was, like "Oh no! --- shit. Don't tell me that's my car that's sitting there with the fucking motor running!"

Alas, of course it was my car. Luckily, nobody on earth besides me would have any use for my 13 year-old Toyota. I have never done anything even remotely close to that, gang. It was just the weirdest feeling. Jeez, I must have been in a hurry, huh? (No, actually I was just really, really tired... I have been in serious la-la land these days.)
