Now that it's cold every night, I've brought all the herbs from the kitchen stoop into the house where they'll stay on the windowsill in my living room throughout the fall & winter. One of these days, I'll cut them back and dry them in my kitchen, but for now, they are totally regaling me with their loveliness!

On this windowsill (below) are the verbena, the French tarragon, the basil, and the rosemary. Check out that basil, gang!! The same basil I started from a wee bonny pup!! Now it has sort of "gone to seed" (meaning it's blossoming) but only b/c I couldn't eat enough of it!! It's just huge and smells great. It's one happy little basil-camper. I so hope it will live through the winter...
