Oodles of updates on moi!

First off -- okay, gang! Do you live anywhere near Mansfield, Ohio? If you do, I am officially astounded! However, if you do, and you want to attend my talk tomorrow afternoon, it will be at the people's community center at:

597 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio 44905

I will be talking about writing outside your comfort zone. There will also be gifts, prizes, coupons, and also a chance to buy a paperback copy of Freak Parade!! Yippee ki yi yay!! (Not only that, but I actually am going to teach you how to write outside your comfort zone and how best to handle it when what you write falls outside the comfort zones of other people! For instance, Mom or Dad, husband or wife, nosy neighbor, even!!)

Okay, here's an update from San Francisco-based erotic photographer, Michael Rosen:

Please join me this Sunday afternoon, September 26, at my booth at the
infamous Folsom Street Fair! Each year the Fair awards several booths
to artists who submit winning portfolios. I'll be selling inexpensive
prints as well as (somewhat) expensive ones and books, from 11 to 6.

The Fair extends from 7th Street to 12th Street. The Artist's Booths
are just off Folsom, on the south side of 11th Street; my booth,
V-1074, faces west toward 12th Street. (A food court is on the north
side of 11th.)

And, most importantly of all!! Yes, due to necessity, I now have a BLACK appliance in my mostly white kitchen!!

Yes, my beloved white microwave died suddenly on Wednesday afternoon, just when I was trying to heat up a cup of delicious leftover coffee! It was only about 5 hours old! Darn -- still quite taste-tempting! So, feeling I was incapable of living without a microwave for even fourteen seconds, I hopped in the car and drove over to Kohl's where they were having a sale. A great sale, in fact. A sale I couldn't pass up. The catch, though (yes, always a catch!!) was that there was only one left and it was black but into my car it went. (My white car -- wonder what's up with that??)

Then, seeing as how I was already out & about, I decided to go see a movie; to be out & about among people for a change! Yay. I went to the super-duper megaplex where, in the long ago past, I saw cool movies dear to my heart, like Public Enemies and Sweeney Todd and Shine A Light and, I don't know, other stuff that's no doubt dear to my heart. I don't go there too often anymore even though it is only about 8 minutes away from here b/c the super-duper megaplex that is about 10 minutes away has a full bar now, so... you get the picture, I'm sure.

Anyway, I went to see Nanny McPhee Returns !!! Gosh, I loved that movie!! It turns out that it's a kid's movie, though. I honestly didn't realize that. Guess that says something about what I find eternally appealing. But I really did enjoy every minute of it., it is SOOOO British! Too fun & such great acting. Especially those incredible little British children who can act the pants off of anybody, anytime. Too amazing, really.  But you know what? So much for me being out & about among people for a change. I was the sole person in the entire theater. I was completely alone the entire time. I'm guessing that says a lot about me but I'll refrain, for now, from expounding on what.

Okay. Another day of the heatwave here. But beginning tonight, it is going to plummet down into the 50s and my drive up to Mansfield tomorrow should be absolutely gorgeous!! And all the trees are changing colors around here. I really cannot wait. Hope your weekend pans out just as sweetly, gang, wherever you are, whoever you are, & whatever you're doing!! (What the hell are you doing?? Stop that!) ha ha

Thanks for visiting, amigos! See ya.
