The heatwave has been pretty ferocious, I must say! And today is no different. I took my walk at 7 AM and it was already unbearable out there.

But before the walk, I went around the yard, watering things hither & yon and to my horror, I discovered my poor little basil plant that I'd started from seeds, was totally wilted & parched and bedraggled!! So I brought it indoors, showered it with water in the kitchen sink, gave it all kinds of lovey-dovey pep talks and now he is thoroughly revived! Yay! (But I'm going to keep him indoors until the heatwave passes.)

Here he is sitting proudly next to the Fiestaware coffeepot on top of the microwave!!
