The best thing about suburbia...

... and my neighborhood, specifically is that the Dairy Queen Brazier is within walking distance!! Yay!!

Last evening, Jay & I walked to the Dairy Queen and had cheeseburgers and french fries and little ice cream cones!! And you know what? They tasted really, really good, gang. I kid you not!

Our particular DQ was founded in 1955 -- imagine that, will you? It was turned into a Brazier-style -- meaning it became a walk-in type place where you could eat inside and order hamburgers, hotdogs, and fries, in addition to the ice cream -- sometime in the 70s. And it has not changed one iota since then, apparently.

When the girl asked me for my order, I happily announced, "I'll have the Ultimate Burger."

She looked at me and said, "We haven't actually had that on the menu for a couple years." Well, I was dumbfounded, b/c technically it was on the menu -- it was the first item on the menu, in fact. But I guess they hadn't updated their menu in 2 years...

Well, anyway, I ordered something else (a bacon-cheeseburger) and was just as happy with that. And it was a perfect evening, weather-wise. It couldn't have been more magical -- you know how happy it makes me to live in the past, right gang????

(That's me on the right, in the red shorts....)
