Wonderful surprises!
I have been in my little house in Ohio now for 4 summers and I have been nurturing a teeny tiny rose sprout that whole time. And wonder of wonders, gang, this spring it decided to spring up out of nowhere and BLOOM! Yippee ki yi yay! Turns out it's a climber and she is red, gang!
I also noticed a lily sprang up yesterday, the first of the bunch. (These bloom every spring, though.) (Long time readers of this lofty blog will recognize the statue of St. Francis of Assisi that I bought when I had to have one of my baby ground hogs put out of its awful misery a couple summers back. That broke my heart to pieces. So I bought the statue of St. Francis, patron saint of animals, to help the little guy on his way to a better place.)
And my rose tree is doing splendidly this year!! I cannot believe it! (A few summers ago, a hummingbird built her nest in this tree and had -- yes, you guessed it! -- a tiny baby hummingbird! It was, honestly, the tiniest nest I had ever seen.)
Last but not least, gang, you might want to check out this lovely video that Al the Yoga guy in New Zealand made of his BIKE RIDE TO WORK!!! If you don't live anywhere near New Zealand, you will not believe how incredibly beauitful his ride to work is every day!! (Makes you want to find an alternate route to work now, doesn't it???) (Al theYoga guy helped save my life. I literally learned yoga from a guy all the way in New Zealand after not having done yoga for about 30 years. As some of you may recall, I was battling suicidal stuff after Mike & I moved here to Ohio from NYC, bought a house and then almost immediately split up. It took a lot of yoga -- and a ton of emails with Sean Meriwether -- before I felt like living again.)

The good news is.... some time this week, a lot of the stuff that disappeared from the old marilynjayelewis.com web site will be magically re-appearing!! It's just taking me awhile!! I have had a ton of stuff to do around here to get Freak Parade ready. But we are just about there, gang.
Meanwhile. Okay. Sorry about yesterday but I never got back here to re-post what I lost in the browser crash. I was just feeling really, really horrible b/c of the infection. But I will get back to it ASAP. Have a great sunny Monday wherever you are, folks, and thanks for visiting!!
