San Francisco-based photographer David Steinberg announces:
I'm delighted and honored to report that I have been named Erotic Photographer of the Year by the Erotic Awards 2010, a group in London (UK) that has been giving annual awards for the last 16 years to people doing groundbreaking work in the area of human sexuality.
Directed by sex activist Dr. Tuppy Owens, and run by the Leydig Trust, the Erotic Awards were initiated in 1994 by a group of volunteers "who wished to create pride rather than shame in things sexual" and to bring recognition and attention to people doing sex-affirming work in a broad range of arenas and media. "We select artists and pioneers with unique talents, people who are ground-breakers and innovators. We include the famous, the struggling, and the previously unknown..."
(PS: If you are a newcomer to my blog, I won this award back in 2001 -- as Writer of the Year, of course; not photographer! ha ha. Those folks in London are absolutely great.)
