I know, I know!!

Long time, so see.

Just when I thought I had everything accounted for on the Freak Parade front, I was informed that I'd overlooked a huge chunk of stuff! So I had to stop everything (all that kicking back & staring-out-the-window stuff that I do so well) and take care of the Freak Parade tasks which involved me having to actually use my brain for a few days!! And I'm actually not even finished with it yet (the work, I mean; I'm not ever planning on being finished with my brain, thanks very much!) . However, lots of news from others is backing up in my inbox so I thought I'd log in here today and share!! Yay!!

First off:

Award-winning NYC poet/writer Emanuel Xavier announces :
THE LEGENDARY PROJECT

EL TEATRO @ EL MUSEO DEL BARRIO
1230 FIFTH AVENUE (at 104th St.)

El Museo del Barrio presents its first-ever NYC Gay Pride celebration event, The Legendary Project, a staged modern dance performance by contemporary choreographer and director, Ferdinand De Jesus, based on the spoken word/music collaborations of Nuyorican poet, Emanuel Xavier and producer El David.  Through dance and movement, The Legendary Project celebrates our very own Latino Gods, angels, kings and queens, poets and dancers.  El Teatro features accommodations for 599 people and a proscenium arch stage.  This one-night-only special event will feature over a dozen dancers and special guest performances.

The Red Room Writers announce:

At 7:45PM PST tonight, live on Red Room, watch authors Lisa Brown, Adele Griffin, and special guest Lemony Snicket star in Red Room's first-ever live webcast. Just click on the link above at 7:45PM to watch the webcast—it's free!

We're celebrating the launch of Lisa and Adele's new young adult paranormal-historical novel, Picture the Dead. The authors will do a reading in vintage costumes and be interviewed by Lemony Snicket.

If you're in San Francisco, please come to this free event hosted by legendary independent bookstore The Booksmith, to meet the authors and the Red Room team. Otherwise, watch and comment from home on Red Room!

And from Darklady in Portland, OR, come this announcement:

Darklady hosted the first, informal, Portland Masturbate-a-thon in her
now-infamous Pirate Flag House in 2001, introducing a new level of
sensual decadence to the city of rosy palms. This year’s ‘thon will be
far more spacious and upscale; taking place on two stories of a hot
nightclub, complete with two full bars, affordable kitchen menu,
luxurious leather furnishings, and brass stripper poles. Dress to
impress. Favorite past party themed costumes encouraged.
