even MORE good ideas!

Not only are we going to stay at the Brookside Motel (that in all honesty still looks as cool as it did 50 years ago....), we're going to go all the way  across the street and have dinner at The Top, a totally retro steak house that has been around for over 50 years, as well. Check out their opening photo montage (complete with retro piano sound) on their home page:

(non-montage, non-piano version):

I think the last time I ate there was in, like, 1976. But oddly enough, Jay was there recently and said it was still really cool. A great place for martinis, and of course steaks, though I am not much of a meat eater. (Man eater, perhaps! Oh, just kidding, gang, calm the fuck down.)

Every time I think about this upcoming little trip of ours, I get really excited. I guess b/c anything that is totally free of stress excites me. And 90% of my life has stressed me out.

However, I have been doing tarot card readings until the cows come home every day (in my world, the cows come home every day which I guess sort of defeats the purpose of the saying -- anyway) and the cards are ASSURING me that this phase of my life (i.e., the last ten years ???) has just about run its course and all the seemingly endless hard work is about to pay off. (I have had the 7 of pentacles in every single reading! If you are curious about the card's meaning, check here. It's mostly a good card.)

Okey dokey. I'm almost done with Freak Parade so I gotta get back at it, gang. Thanks for visiting. (And say a little prayer for my daffodils. Most of them didn't bloom this year. Sigh. Only the green leaves came up; not the blossoms themselves. It breaks my heart every time I look at them. In the little park right next to my yard, all the daffodils bloomed! I makes me feel like crying. But even I know there are more important things in this world to cry about. However. I guess that's why I count so much on the simple things to make me happy. I will keep you posted on the hyacinths...) See ya, gang.
