Well, okay, not about this per se, b/c this is the cover of a DVD. But we're going to see the Metropolitan Opera's performance of the opera Les Contes d'Hoffman at the Live at the Met series here at a movie theater in town.

Why, yes, it is 3 hours and 25 minutes long with a 20 minute intermission, however... there's only a 17 million dollar surcharge to see it in HD and IMAX, and there is partial nudity plus they serve booze in movie theaters these days so yippee ki yi yay! Off we go.

And we'll wake bright and early Thursday morning for our 7:30 AM private French class...

Loyal readers of this lofty blog will no doubt recall that I used to do this kind of stuff -- go to see the Metropolitan Opera in HD IMAX and study French -- all by myself. But no more! Now I have somebody here who says, "Let's do it!" and then off we go.

And guess who was standing in her bathroom yesterday, brushing her quite lovely teeth, when her new housemate came in and said, "I just booked us on a little cruise to the Bahamas." (!!!!) (????)

If you guess me, you once more go to the head of the fucking class. (Are you getting tired of being up there at the head of the class all by yourselves, gang? That's what you get for being such smarty pants's; it's lonely at the top! Or at the front, as the case may be.)

Anyway. I have never wanted to go to the Bahamas. Nor have I ever wanted to go on a cruise -- I have a love of the ocean and being near water but I have an acute fear of being in boats out on the water. But what the heck? This is the year for overcoming the rest of my phobias, right, folks? I am now incredibly excited about all of it! Yay!!
