The cold spell has snapped & moved on

So it's back down into the office I go. Astounding how much CRAP can accumulate on my dining room table when the laptop is perched there. Unbelievable. Like I'm nesting, or something. "Here, let's just put everything I could ever want in the scope of my entire life right on the table next to my laptop." It's just incredible how quickly it happens.

But now everything is back where it should be and I love that feeling of being uncluttered! (Or "unfettered and alive" as Joni Mitchell might say -- thanks for the Chicago memories, Mark!) (And speaking of Mark Pritchard, here's a great review of his new novel, How They Scored.)

Of course, I have Christmas lights strung up in my office, as well. It's actually really Christmas-y in my office. Several candles, a little Christmas tree, lights, a 3-foot high lighted snowman. And no one at all sees it but me and the cats b/c it's way at the back of the house looking over the backyard. Sometimes even I can recognize that I am just too freakin' weird when it comes to Christmas. (But I have heard that I came by it genetically...)

Okay! Time's a wastin'. Jay moves here this weekend and I have not yet done a single thing about packing up all the books, papers, records, etc., and moving them down into storage. Plus I am also falling behind in my 10-page minimum of revisions on Freak Parade. I haven't progressed on either of the stories I need to get off to my publisher in France, either. I am spinning my wheels a little bit around here, gang. I got up at 5 AM today to try and figure out how to get caught up. But it's kind of an impossibility. Something's gotta give, as they say. I just can't manage it. The holidays make everything seem twice as complicated, don't they? Or is it just me?

Well on that harried note, I gotta keep moving around here! Hope Monday is sweet to you, gang, wherever you are! Thanks for visiting. See ya real soon.
