And here's me setting my tree on fire!

Just kidding, of course!!
I forgot to post this one yesterday. Just continued proof that I do amaze and astound as a photographer!
Hey, finally some GREAT CAREER NEWS about Johnny Depp! (Not that you care, I realize, but I do!) Variety International reported yesterday that he might be playing Pancho Villa, in Spanish no less, in an upcoming Emir Kusturica film. I usually have trouble with Kusturica films -- there's always something in them that I find unbearably disturbing. For instance, the circumcision scene in When My Father Was Away on Business, and absolutely everything about Time of the Gypsies. However, Marlon Brando doing Zappata -- oops!! excuse me, I meant to say, Johnny Depp doing Pancho Villa -- should be increyble!!! (According to google, this is the Spanish word for incredible!) If we're lucky, we shall soon see!
Okay. Well, now that all the really important stuff is out of the way.... Who knew that when I decided to stay at the Warwick in NYC this coming February, I would discover that they had recently renovated the entire hotel to reflect -- yes, can you fucking believe it?? -- 1930s Hollywood!! I kid you not. I am just so beside myself with glee.
I only wanted to stay there because it was close to MoMA, and b/c my parents stayed there in 1966 or '67, and b/c another VP of Columbia Records (now SONY music) that I used to be desperately in love with in 1991 or so, lived at the Warwick for a while. (This is not the same VP at Columbia that I mentioned in a recent post below somewhere that involved me and Art Garfunkel's manager. It's just that MoMA was around the corner from Columbia Records in those days, so when I worked at MoMA, I was always meeting VPs from Columbia Records and one of them was like a father to me -- Bob Cato. The other will remain nameless and was an overly sensitive , over-worked, cruel and strange dude. )
Anyway. It was a decision I made purely based on nostalgia and convenience, and then here they've turned out to be an old midtown hotel after my own heart!! Can't wait, gang! Wish you were coming with me!
