Good morning, gang!
And what a fine morning it is here. Frosty! But sunny...
Yesterday, I was really fed up. Did my twenty minutes of rowing at the club and was really fighting it, until I decided to use that hypnotic rowing feeling to turn the energy around. (Just FYI, whenever I'm rowing, I close my eyes and pretend I'm in one of those old silent movies, where galley slaves are rowing, rowing, rowing! I have no idea why I do this, but I find it really fun to pretend I'm in old silent movies.) (As opposed to all those new silent movies you hear so much about!)
Anyway. I stuck with it for my twenty allotted minutes and was feeling pretty chipper by the time I was done. Then I got into that incredible whirlpool at the club -- had it all to myself. Forced myself to stay in it for 5 minutes (yes! I am that neurotic about always staying busy that I have to force myself to stay in an amazingly blissful private whirlpool for 5 whole minutes...) Then I took a shower which is always fun to do at the club, b/c the showers there are like little private rooms; so incredibly spacious. Not that I don't love my own shower at home. After all, my own shower is from 1957 and I am always at my happiest while living in the past! However...
So I took my shower and at the last minute said, "to hell with it", and I washed my hair, too! This is saying a lot b/c I am very, very picky about my hair products (organic) and/or being seen with hair that's still wet. But I went ahead and threw caution to the wind. Washed my hair, left the club with it still wet. Then.... on another last minute whim, I stopped in at CVS (with wet hair!) and bought tortilla chips, fake cheese dip, and Coronas. Just fucking said to hell with all of it. (I am a super picky eater, too. I don't like junk food and chemicals and crap like that. And I'm not a real beer drinker, either, by any stretch. But I was just so fed up with that iron grip I usually have my head in.)
And I had to hurry home for a marathon "marketing conference call." My new "marketing director" (also known as my Senior Prom date!), had graciously taken a webinar yesterday on digital book marketing for me and he had lots of notes to go over with me, as well as a bunch of information re: digital book marketing in general that exhausted me and made me feel grumpy. Then we moved on to a lengthy/lively discussion about the choice of cover art for my upcoming novel Freak Parade.
Several hours later, it turned out to be late! And so all I had for dinner were the tortilla chips (entire bag), fake cheese dip (entire jar), and one Corona. I consumed all this in bed while happily watching a Charlie Chan movie from 1939.
When I awoke at 3 o'clock in the morning, guess who's tummy was upset??? Hmmm. Time's up! Pencil's down! If you guessed moi, you have guessed correctly and you go to the head of the class.
So, based on all that crazy rebellious grumpiness, it's kind of neat that I managed to wake-up in such a great mood today, isn't it? And today's the day I do a new 90-day dream board to hang up on my bedroom wall. I love doing those. It's like arts & crafts day! And I get to dream about all the things I want to manifest next. What could be a better way to spend time? (Oh -- and there's a new batch of brownies ready to be devoured in the kitchen!)
On that chipper note, I'm gonna get crackin' around here, gang, and do some dreaming! Hope your day is just as dreamy wherever you are! Thanks for visiting. See ya!
