Hillbilly Redux

There's an interesting little interview with Marianne Faithfull online today. She's out there promoting her new album, "Easy Come, Easy Go."

The new album includes a duet with Keith, where they sing Merle Haggard's classic, "Sing Me Back Home" -- another one of my favorite country songs about prison! Yippee ki yi yay!

The warden led a prisoner down the hallway to his doom
I stood up to say good-bye like all the rest
And I heard him tell the warden just before he reached my cell
'Let my guitar playing friend do my request.' (Let him...)

Sing me back home with a song I used to hear
Make my old memories come alive
Take me away and turn back the years
Sing Me Back Home before I die

I recall last Sunday morning a choir from up the street
Stopped in to sing a few old gospel songs
And I heard him tell the singers 'There's a song my mama sang.
Can I hear it once before you move along?'

Sing me back home with the song my mama sang
Make my old memories come alive
Take me away and turn back the years
Sing Me Back Home before I die
(c - Merle Haggard)

Well, okay! How 'bout that season finale of Mad Men???? Wasn't it great, gang? Joanie's back!!! Yay! But now Betty's being a weirdo. That part sucks, but onward, right, gang??

Okay. See ya in the funny papers! Thanks for visiting, folks.
