Editing!
Crikey. Sometimes it just goes on & on. I think I've reached a point where I feel satisfied but then I change my mind and start all over from word one. Not fun with a 450 page manuscript (i.e., Freak Parade.)
I am trying to be okay with this idea that life itself is a work in progress, but I find that concept so frustrating. I want to arrive already but my mind keeps throwing me curve balls & I keep not arriving. Perhaps if I started chanting to myself "I'm here, I'm here" then things would start to feel different; I don't know.
Meanwhile, I am following Yoko Ono on twitter. I started following her on Friday. It's quite interesting to be following Yoko Ono around. Now suddenly she is real. Like, 2 minutes ago she typed something & now I know about it. How weird is that? (If you are not old enough to know who Yoko Ono is then it is probably not weird to you at all! Oh well. Among other things, she was the wife of John Lennon who was like God to me when I was younger.)
After I started following her, I was at my desk, on the phone yakking with Jay (big surprise there, I know) and a direct email comes through from Yoko that says: "Thanks for following." It was just so fucking startling. I said, "I just got an email in my inbox from Yoko Ono."
Jay was in the middle of saying something but then he stopped and said, "What did you just say?"
Life gets weirder by the minute, gang; doesn't it?
