hugest ego in the entire universe
I am, of course, referring to moi! Although I do go to great lengths to hide it. However.... imagine my ego's indescribable delight when I was on Amazon.com today, looking for sales info on one of my other books, when I noticed that new editions of the original Masquerade trade paper edition of my first book, Neptune & Surf, is now selling for $134.50. (And that's the cheaper one! The other new copy sells for $135.86!) It doesn't say, but these are probably autographed, as well. And there is one copy that's "used -- like new" that's selling for $129.12. Unbelievable. Wow. Needless to say that at these prices, I can't afford to buy my own books!
And I thought it was pricey ten years ago, when it originally sold for, like $9.95 or something like that.
Okay, well.
One of those gorgeous late summer-early fall days, but I've had a mild sinus headache all day. I even went back to bed midday and watched Turner Classic Movies while kind of taking a nap. It was a later Greta Garbo picture. I never really cared much for Greta Garbo, but she co-starred with Melvyn Douglas, Constance Bennett, Ruth Gordon, and Roland Young -- all of whom I love! It was a cute movie, but it did nothing to relieve my headache.
Now I am back at the laptop, trying to get some writing done... I'm wondering if chocolate could help. It usually helps everything else!
This very time last week, I was at the Palmer House having a most splendid evening -- no headaches at all. How time flies.
