It's that time of year, gang!

Most of the other blossoming things in the yard are waning now but the honeysuckle is coming out in full force. It is unbelievable this year.

As usual, you can't get the full scope of it because I'm the one behind the camera, but here is a sampling from last evening.

You know, summertime in my childhood was always spectacular. But I have  to say that from 1972 onward, this has been by far the absolute best summer of my life.

Here's the garden gate. Yes, I have to go in and out of here at the height of bee season, and I am scared of bees!! The arrangement works out really well for me, as you can guess.

The long view. Way at the back is the garden gate.

This is a flower that blooms in where all the honeysuckle grows deepest. It only blooms once in the late summer. You can't tell from this shot, but the flower is taller than I am.
