Great big bunches of news from others
Sorry that I have not had time to keep up with announcements from others this past week, so here it all is in one fell swoop! No rhyme or reason; just announcements!
From WelshArtNow
Welcome to the July edition of the online art
magazine for Wales www.welshartnow.org
. In this issue, we pay a visit to our neighbours in Bristol, to see the Banksy
exhibition. On the home front we feature artists Ian Grainger, Erin Rickard
and Elinor Evans. Ian is unfortunately no longer with us but Erin a recently
graduated artist is right at the beginning of an exciting career in the visual
arts. Elinor is involved in a really different project that travels from Spain
to Wales. It is centred on her interest in animals and the way in which we
interact with them. This raises many interesting questions regarding the
involvement of animals in art and we address them to Elinor. Her
reinterpretation of the Gelert story will be one not to miss. It's been a busy
month for us, we have launched our South-West edition see www.artreviewsouthwest.org . We intend to carry the news of some of the exciting things
happening in Wales over the bridge! Don't forget the Ponty's big weekend is
happening this weekend at the Ynysangharad Memorial Park, there will be some
great entertainment on offer, more details on our website.

From WelshArtNow
A New Book from Jonathan Ames!
i have a new book out: THE DOUBLE LIFE IS TWICE AS GOOD.
it is a collection of fiction and non-fiction, including the short story,
'bored to death,' which is the basis of the hbo series i've created of the same
title and which debuts september 20th.
on thursday, july 16th, at 7pm, at bookcourt, 73
court street, brooklyn, i will be giving my only reading from this new
book.
ONE RING ZERO will play some music, including the song i
wrote for them, 'the story of the hairy call.'
also, THROWDINI, a world-renowned knife-thrower will throw
knives at me to help cut the ribbon, as it were, for this new publication.
here is the amazon thing for the book.

October Babies is a cool site! Susan Scutti and Kat Georges are, as most know, very talented poets. It is an honor to be on their site.
