Buon Giorno!

That's Italian for "oh happy day!" -- sort of.

Another one of my short stories has appeared in Italian translation. "After Hours" is now called "Dopocena" and it appears in Berbera & Hyde's Best Erotica 2008 from Piccola Biblioteca through Oscar Mondadori Press .

It's funny; when the book arrived in my mailbox yesterday, I couldn't remember for the life of me which story of mine they'd bought. The first line of dialogue (in Italian) is:

"Vuoi una sigaretta?" e me la offre.

And that didn't ring any bells at all. So my first thought, naturally, was that they'd mistakenly translated another writer's story and put my name on it. (I always consider the most likely scenario first! Ha ha ha.) But then I found the story's English title at the end and realized, no, that was mine.

"After Hours" is nowhere close to my favorite story but editors seem to appreciate it because it is one of the few I've written that isn't hopelessly dark and/or quirky & offensive. Which gives you an idea of the state of erotica in the world these days....  ...  ... (Oops! Excuse me -- I was yawning there for a minute, but now I'm back!)

Okay! If you understand Italian, and if you prefer my erotica when it's really tame and generally non-offensive, you can buy the book here! Yay!

(However, if you prefer my "usual fare" -- i.e., tons of anal sex and a little bondage between doomed/bittersweet lovers -- and you understand French, my story "Dinner at 8" is coming out later this year  in a collection of BDSM stories from La Musardine in Paris and edited by Gala Fur.)
