Okay, 2 things
Next note
This is from today's Women & Hollywood blog:
"Happy International Women’s Day!
"One thing I’m hopeful for in this new administration, is for the US to finally (after 30 years) to ratify CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.)
"The US is one of only a handful of countries (which includes Iran) that has not ratified the treaty. New Foreign relations subcommittee chair overseeing global women’s issues, Barbara Boxer is on the case: 'We’ve waited long enough,' said Boxer, D-Calif. 'All these years later, there’s no excuse for not ratifying this critical convention to shine a light on women’s rights around the world. It’s a shame that the U.S. stands with countries such as Iran, Sudan and Somalia in failing to ratify the treaty.'
"Let’s get it together. It’s shameful that we haven’t ratified this treaty."
