Just when everything was feeling like it was maybe getting better... I picked a key up off the floor yesterday and managed to fracture my pinkie finger. It isn't anything terrible, it is just inexplicable and makes typing feel very, very strange. (Oh, I forgot to mention that the key weighed 710 lbs. -- just kidding.) I guess I need to drink more milk.

Anyway.  Life goes on (and on & on). The film festival moves into high gear this week, and I am already exhausted. But I am planning on attending some very cool screenings this week and meeting some very cool filmmakers from all over the world. I will keep you posted.

Keep an eye out for my next "5 Questions with..." column over at the film fest blog. My next interviewee will be Michael Hemmingson. I recently had a chance to watch his new film, The Watermelon, directed by Brad Mays, and was really delighted by it. It screened at the San Diego film festival back in September. It was totally up my alley, charm-wise. (I know, I know; something written by Michael Hemmingson -- charming? Well, yeah. It was.)

Speaking of another charmer... is it true that Johnny Depp is making a Pirates 4 movie? Wow, sequels 2 & 3 were, in my humble opinion, totally boring & tedious. I cannot believe he is making a 4th. Of course, I could guess the price tag would have something to do with it. What makes me really ill is that I know I will go see it... alas.
