Hurricane Ike!

Well, I certainly wasn't expecting it, but then I tend to be so grossly enamored of myself and all things jumping about inside my own head, that I was totally surprised when the remnants of Hurricane Ike blew up into us late yesterday afternoon. Jeepers. Gone went the electricity for 24 hours... I was just grateful that all my lovely trees stayed stuck in the ground. An awful lot of folks around here weren't that lucky.

And so with power now restored... I now have 50 work-related emails to tackle. I'm kinda thinking that red wine and email-tackling make a really nice mid-evening combo, don't you think so, gang? (And pizza! Yay!)

Meanwhile, check out what Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. blogged about on the Huffington Post today:

"Fascist writer Westbrook Pegler, an avowed racist who Sarah Palin approvingly quoted in her acceptance speech for the moral superiority of small town values, expressed his fervent hope about my father, Robert F. Kennedy, as he contemplated his own run for the presidency in 1965, that 'some white patriot of the Southern tier will spatter his spoonful of brains in public premises before the snow flies.'

"It might be worth asking Governor Palin for a tally of the other favorites from her reading list."

Okay. Onward to red wine and email-tackling. Hope the weather is being kind to you, wherever you are tonight, gang. Thanks for visiting. See ya!
