Anyone among you loyal readers of this lofty blog (and there are about 360,000 of you a year, worldwide) have any idea at all as to who it was that bought me a year's subscription the the New Yorker magazine for my birthday???

I seriously doubt it was anyone over at the New Yorker itself, although they would know first hand that I'd let my subscription run out in January...
