News from out west...
News from Carol Queen and the Center for Sex & Culture in San Francisco:
Hi everyone! June is practically upon us, and we have something for pretty much everyone at CSC, beginning Monday with a visit from writer Jenny Block. She'll read from and discuss her new book "Open: Love, Sex, and Life in an Open Marriage" this coming Monday -- please come meet her! More literary fun throughout the month, with our More 5 Minute Erotica party, the Fucking Daphne bookparty (no word yet whether we will or will not actually be encouraged to fuck Daphne, but we can hope), and of course Jen Cross's fabulous writing group students will be with us on 6/21. Plus Carol will be in DC with Nina Hartley; if you have friends in that area, please let them know!
Can you help re: this donations need? Jack Random, who is helping us with our IT needs, says: "The CSC very much needs your old computer. If you have an old PC with Windows XP installed and at least 512 mb of RAM and you want to donate it for a tax deduction, why not give it to us instead of the Salvation Army? We could also use any kind of old external hard drives, spare cat-5 or USB cables, and DSL-to-phone-jack adapters that you might have lying around. Sorry to be picky about how new the PC should be, but honestly we've got enough boxes that verge on being doorstops as it is."
Good news and bad news on the "wandering objects" front: Robert's cane has come home! Many thanks to the good soul who returned it (and nicely done re: its obscure location!). Now we just need to see the "borrowed" mic and cords last seen in the armoire. Sigh. At CSC we really are not as rich as we look. A nice anonymous donation of $150 would allow us to replace it.
Kittens? Need any? Scroll ALL the way down! mew!
Welcome to our terrific new summer interns, Alyssa and Chloe! And here's your last call (well, maybe second-to-last) urging you to join us at SF Pride -- I'm an honorary grand Marshall, we'll have an "historical whore" contingent fronted by the fabulous Ms. Sadie Lune, and we need more help to work the gates -- for every person who does a shift we make close to $100 from a Pride Partners grant. If you can help, please contact gened@sexandculture.org -- and thanks!!
Happy Pride Month!

Events with a *star are new to this newsletter. How it works: the first listing is ours: CSC-sponsored events, events held at CSC, and events co-sponsored by or benefiting CSC. They are followed by brief save-the-date listings, then the second half is a list of other people's events and announcements which may be of interest to you. Both lists are boiled down to a table of contents, just below this note.

Kittens?
Maybe you need a new kitty or two. Kat and Layne have been visited by a feral mom who's left four adorable little kittens under the barn. They'll have to go to the shelter soon if someone doesn't speak up for them, so let us know if you want to be put in touch! I don't know what flavor they are M /F-wise, but one is a tux cat (either dusty black or dark grey, couldn't tell) and three are stripey tabbies. They're still little enough that they have that crazy-cute little pencil-dick tail that baby kitties have. I personally recommend getting a pair -- our cats Teacup and Bracelet are littermates and they take good care of each other. If you don't speak up, who knows if these babies will go to a sex-positive home? (Well, that might be completely irrelevant to the cats, but *I* care.) If you're a prospective adopter I'll put you in touch with Kat and Layne, so email me! purr purr! --CQ
