Everything's coming up roses!

Well, perhaps daffodils, hyacinths, and forsythia, but you get my drift, I'm sure. It is really colorful and spring-like out there. And my neighbor had the incredibly generous foresight to have one of his toweringly huge ancient magnolia trees planted right in front of my kitchen door. It is blossoming like mad out there.

Unfortunately, they are still predicting frost and/or snow by Sunday night. I cannot believe a thing like that would really happen! That so sucks! But I guess if they're still predicting it by Sunday afternoon, I'll go out and clip whatever flowers I can and bring them indoors. (Perhaps I will have to refrain from cutting down the magnolia tree and bringing that indoors, as well; it could cause some serious bad-neighbor vibes, not to mention cramped living quarters. We shall see!)

Then sometime early next week, I'll take a bunch of the cut flowers out to the cemetery. Somebody I loved eternally has been laying out there for 34 years now. (It's the darnedest thing; every time I make a trip out there, he's still just laying there, like clock-work. Summer, spring, winter, fall; year after year, decade after decade. Actually, it is one of the very few things I can always count on; if I need to tell him something, he's always right there. The other morning, I was thinking I'd like to be interred there next to him. Then I could just babble on for centuries...) (He's probably planning on moving now, post-haste, even as we speak!)

Okay!

Shine A Light was so fucking cool!!! I loved it! If you are a Stones fan(atic), as I am and have been for 36 years now, you must go see it. It is really, really fun and so overpowering on that IMAX screen. (Sometimes IMAX triggers my panic disorder; I have an irrational fear of wide open spaces and of very large things, and also of heights. But this time, I didn't even notice it, I was having such a great time.)

The best news of all

After 2 and 1/2 months, I finally stopped working on that novel that was making me insane. And, with my agent's very generous advice, I have gone back to working on my memoir, along with getting my notes in some sort of readable order for the Valentino novel. I am so incredibly happy about this decision. It's like the whole world opened up again and I'm excited to be alive. Yippee ki-yi-yay!

On that randy note... I'm going to get started here. I've got bills to pay, a house to clean, some yoga to do, some French to study, some groceries to buy... and a memoir to write. Thanks for visiting, gang. Have a terrific Friday, wherever you're at! See ya.
