Life is beautiful...
...if always a little challenging at the same time. Yesterday was an interesting step into the unknown. One I was kind of pushed into, but nevertheless, I survived it. And re-surfaced with a very charitable spirit to boot, so -- onward.
On another, much less cryptic note...
I was also at the club yesterday, working out. And afterwards, I was the sole woman in the locker room; I was undressing to go take a shower. And just as I had removed the very last piece of my workout clothes, in walks a nanny with a 4-year-old blond boy in tow, en route to the toilets from the indoor swimming pool. Not only was I stark naked, but it was full frontal nudity time. I smiled and said, "hello," and this little boy's little mouth dropped open and he just stopped moving altogether and stared at me, like I was the most entrancing creature he had ever seen. It made my day.
I sure would love it if I had dates who, upon seeing me totally naked, reacted in that way. I guess I need to start dating some 4 year-olds; it could probably do wonders for my ego (which is already considerably huge, so it takes a lot to keep it well-nourished...)
Okay! Onward.
Today is all about working on the new novel, about trying to get it to speak to me, already, and tell me where it needs to go from here. Then it's spanakopita time! It will be my first attempt at making it from scratch, so we'll see how that goes. Then some yoga. And then I'll probably just sit and stare into space and think about life for awhile. French lessons resume tomorrow morning. I think I know less French now than before my tutor went on vacation. We shall see!
Well, have a great Wednesday wherever you are, gang. And don't forget, I'll be in Cleveland a week from Saturday, reading at the Suspect Thoughts book store! I'll be fully clothed, but just as entrancing as ever, I'm sure, so stop in if you're in the Cleveland area. See ya!
