That Character Arc, According to Moi

Wow, did the Universe give me the sweetest little gift this morning.

I really love that Natasha Beddingfield song, "Unwritten." I hear it a lot at the club on the satellite radio and I just love it. Lately, I've been waking up at the crack of dawn with the refrain from it stuck in my mind, going over and over, as those sorts of lyrical things do. And I have really, really been wanting to hear it. As in, play the whole song over and over again at top volume, etc.

Bright and early this morning, I was down in the family room, looking for some music to play and I thought, "Well, maybe I should look at this imported Natasha Beddingfield CD that I bought last spring that I never play (the one with 'I Wanna Have Your Babies' on it), and see if maybe there's something on it that is similar to 'Unwritten'."

And lo! and behold, there it was: "Unwritten"! Wow. I'd had it lurking there on the shelf in my family room for a year already. I think I played it at top volume this morning for like a solid hour and a half. I just love that song. (And for a writer hard at work on a new novel, it holds an even sweeter spark of inspiring greatness, doesn't it?)

And I realized that my own personal character arc for the last 10 months or so has been rather interesting, in terms of British white chick singer/songwriters: we started with Dido's "White Flag"  as M. and I broke up after 7 years; then moved to Amy Winehouse's song "Back to Black"  as I attempted to stop torturing myself with 24/7, non-stop grief over the "end of the affair" and was generally not very successful at it; and now, here we are with Natasha Beddingfield's  "Unwritten," with everything in my life going exceedingly well and all things looking up.

Pretty darn groovy, even if I say so myself.

Hope your world is pretty darn groovy these days, too, gang; wherever you're at!! Thanks for visiting.
