We have a bona fide SNOW DAY! A blizzard, in fact; we are already at a level 2 snow emergency around here and they are still predicting another 6 inches or more.

Of course, the sad news is that only last Monday, I had little flowers blooming in my front garden already. I can't imagine they will still be there when the snow melts. But I guess you never know; nature is pretty darn resilient, isn't it?

The other sad news is that my car needs nothing but work done on it. Yeegads. I took it in for a little spring check-up the other day; you know, I wanted new wiper blades, basically...well, the Toyota repair guy came into the waiting area there and said, "Mrs. Lewis, did you know you have no back brakes left?"

Well, I had noticed something felt really weird when I had to stop on a dime the other day; I almost went through the fucking windshield.

He said, "Do you notice the car rattles a lot?"

I kind of noticed that, yeah.

"The front strut mounts need work. And you know the battery's leaking, right? You've seen all that crud on the terminals?"

Yes.

"You gotta get those replaced ASAP or one of these days, your car isn't going to start. And you need a new valve cover gasket; it's leaking oil all over the place."

Etc., etc., etc., and then one thousand dollars later... Well, I did get new wiper blades, though. So that's pretty cool. I am so not interested in being someone who owns a car, but since I must if I want to get anywhere... It was so much nicer when M. took care of all that stuff. But oh well. On we go.
