First of all...

I want to apologize to all those friends and colleagues who have written me emails recently and who are now wondering when the bleep I'm planning on answering those bleeping emails!

Soon.

I am simply overwhelmed (in a good way) by the new novel and by writing it and by how well it's going. I forget all about email until I'm off the computer for the rest of the day/night. Tomorrow, I am going to try to answer all my emails. Friday, I am going to try to turn in any work that editors are (sort of) patiently waiting on...

Meanwhile, more importantly...am I naive or what? I could not believe Valerie Bertinelli's recent admission of having cheated on Eddie. Wow. What's more impossible to believe:

A.) that she did it
B.) that I am astounded by it; or
C.) that I am even wasting space telling you about being astounded by it?

You know, the press are all going on and on about "her weight loss this",  and "her weight loss that", and "here are her 10 steps for changing one's life", etc., etc., ad infinitum, and I'm like, whoa, Nellie, back up; she cheated on Eddie???? I can't believe it.

Not that I ever spent much time having them even cross my mind over the last 25 years, but I did sort of think they were a couple of really cute, made-for-each-other pixies, you know? It turns out they might have been pixies, but they were of the coke-snorting, alcoholic, volatile, over-eating, and cheating variety of pixies. I guess we've learned a valuable lesson: Just say no to pixies. It's a lot less disillusioning in the long run.

Well, on a seemingly-related-yet-not-at-all-related note... Love Story is in full swing around here and it is just so good! I love that movie. Fluffy seems to love it, too. She curls up in my arms and snores contentedly while we lie on the bed together and watch it. She is just too precious. Mornings around here are the best. Well, so are evenings, frankly. That's when I tend to hang out in bed and watch movies with Buster and Bunny. We three watched the last part of Les Diaboliques together the other night. But Buster and Bunny, lovely as they are to look at, are not snugglers by any stretch of the imagination. They like to be near me; in fact, they like being very near me, but if I so much as reach out and touch them, whoosh, they're gone.

Okey-dokey! I guess I'm going to get started around here, gang. This has all the earmarks of being a perfect day and I am really looking forward to it. Hope your day is perfect, too, wherever you are. Thanks for visiting!
