Finally! La Deluge!

Yesterday was like breaking through the dam -- and from out of nowhere, too. I got 5 chapters edited in one sitting. It was quite awesome and effortless. If I can get 5 more chapters edited today (which, admittedly, is unlikely because I really need to clean my house today, too), the book will be finished! Regardless, the end is at last in sight! Then on to the next deadline. Aaarrgh!

I, personally, can not wait until next weekend when Tim Burton's latest will open in movie theaters nationwide. I am very, very eager to see what he's done with it. It seems like it will be kind of spellbinding and I hope that it's in a good way. (BTW, if you click that link, you'll be taken to a seriously un-edited interview with Tim Burton & Johnny Depp and you will most likely marvel at the number of times they can say "you know" and "um, a, a, a, um" type stuff per sentence.)

Life has been okay, all things considered. I've been catching up on my movie-watching, late into the night. Over the last few nights, I've watched, Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse ( 3 hours, German, 1933, Fritz Lang -- banned by the Nazis and if you watch it, you can readily see why); Tout les matin du monde (French, 1991); The Crowd (Silent; King Vidor, 1928); I vitelloni (Italian, B&W, 1953, Federico Fellini); and, of course, A Christmas Carol (1939, B&W, with Reginald Owen).

Where would I be without movies? I swear, they literally keep me alive sometimes.

Also, this is a really cute Advent site that updates daily until the New Year. I have no idea who Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners are, but their web site is a nice bit of distracting fun in the A.M. (or even in the P.M., if you feel so inclined!)

All righty, gang! I need to get started over here. Thanks for visiting & have a great day!
