Out in San Francisco, it's once again time for Writers with Drinks! Thank god!! Here's the info:


The mouth is faster than the brain at Writers With Drinks, San Francisco’s best lubricated reading series. In October, we feature:

- David West, one of the city’s most celebrated queer poets
- Matthew Jacobs, writer for Doctor Who, Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s New Groove
- Nomy Lamm, activist, zinester and musician
- Katayoon Zandvakili, memoirist, poet and author of The Arrest
- Tim Maleeny, author of Stealing The Dragon
- Rachel Chase, erotica/romance author, whose books include Sex Lounge.

When: Saturday, Oct. 20, from 7:30 to 9:30 PM, doors open around 6:45
Where: The Make Out Room, 3225 22nd. St. btw. Mission & Valencia, SF
How much: $3 to $5 sliding scale, all proceeds benefit other magazine

UPCOMING WORKSHOP

"Finishing Touches" will begin on Monday evening, Nov. 5, at the Writer's Voice of the West Side YMCA. The course will encourage writers of fiction and creative nonfiction to complete works in progress. Substantial class time will be provided for individual critiques. Eight meetings. Open to all.
