Mornin' y'all

As I'm sure you are all well aware of by now, Saturday was Bastille Day in Paris, or, well, I guess all over France. Anyway, from Paris-based writer/filmmaker/friend, Michele Larue, a view from her balcony in Paris on Saturday night:

I wish I had a photo of what it looked like Saturday night where I was so that you could contrast and compare (and perhaps even feel a little sorry for me...alas), but I was not out snapping away. Actually, I've been very, very sad lately and Saturday was probably the worst of it. The last thing I want is any sort of photographic documentation of it.

But onward.

Here is a bit of news from another:

Vanna Vechian, an erotica writer/explorer who resides in Western Europe, has a new short story posted, "The Meaning of White -- A Ritual" and you can read it here.

And another bit of news from yet another 'nother:

San Francisco-based writer/legend, M. Christian, announces:

"On August 11th at 3:00PM you'll have the rare opportunity to meet and greet me, a reclusive author who shuns sunlight, at a special *daytime* event at Borderlands Books:

Borderlands Books
866 Valencia St.
San Francisco CA 94110

(415) 824.8203
Toll-Free Phone Number: (888) 893.4008
Email: webmail@borderlands-books.com

"Come for the reading, stay for basking in my literary glow (caution: only visible at night)!"

I guess that is it for now, gang. As always, I am behind schedule around here and have a lot of writing to do. Aaaargh... Will there ever be a day where I'll wake up in the morning and say, "Wow, no deadlines looming largely. And all the checks arrived on time!" I am just foolish enough to have hope, amigos. On we go.
