I think this is called 'althea' and here it is blossoming along the side of my garage. It is also growing on the other side of the house, but it doesn't get too much sun there, so it hasn't gotten close to blooming yet. There are also a number of them along the fence at the back of my backyard, isolating me from my no-doubt very nice neighbors...
