It was Another Snowy Sunday here yesterday!

However, since our house and yard look exactly the same and the snow pretty much looks exactly the same, I will spare you more photos. But you can always go to the new photo page on my web site if you need to refresh your memory!

I had a most spectacular weekend here. Finally had time to catch up with a lot of folks on the phone. Not everyone had happy news to share but it was so good to finally get a chance to speak with people who've been on my mind a lot lately. And some of those folks did indeed have good news to share! Which is always nice.

For those of you who know me from my country-folk singing days, you might remember that one of my uncles was a country singer in Nashville for a long time. He had his own band and a couple of hits on the Billboard charts, but he also worked with some incredible country legends like Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Johnny Paycheck, Marty Robbins, etc. He moved back to this area many years ago and as luck would have it, I received a surprise phone call from him Saturday. He was right across the street from me so I went over and hung out with him and we chatted for a couple of hours. It was so great to see him again and get caught up on family/music stuff. Although a lot of the family have passed away since I last saw everyone in 2000.

Later on...

I managed to get my hands a great bottle of Spanish Rioja Reserva on Saturday evening. Yay! I drank just a little bit too much of that while watching The Station Agent but I had a great time none-the-less!

Today is all about getting back to work on the new book. Since Friday night, I've been laboring over the same few paragraphs (when I wasn't drinking or yakking on the phone, that is). I'm hoping to finally get past that today. We shall soon see!
